Things you can do to cure insomnia at home

Insomnia can be a debilitating problem that can affect your everyday energy level making it hard for you to live your life to the fullest. Medications are not the answer since they can become habit forming, dangerous to health and expensive. There are some ways to help get a good night sleep the natural way and you can do them now right at home.

Avoid a heavy meal before you sleep. Don't eat too late at night. Eat your dinner earlier and avoid snacking. It is hard to sleep on a full stomach.

Put on some music as you fall asleep. Relaxing music that is smooth and mellow or a sound track of something you find soothing like waves, rain or a light breeze. Allow yourself to fall asleep as the sound fills your room with relaxation.

A warm drink can help you relax and fall asleep. This may still be a remedy for insomnia. Have some warm milk before you turn in for the night and it might help you get a good night sleep. Or a cup of warm herbal non caffeine tea may help you sleep if you don't like milk.

A warm bath is a great way to relax your body before you go to bed. Use some bath salts, Epsom salt or baking soda and sit in a warm bath to let toxins leave your body and help you get a good night sleep.

Don't take nap during the day and get up early. If you are not tired when you go to bed you will not sleep. Exercise will also help you sleep but don't do it just before you go to bed. Give yourself some relaxing time before you go to bed so you can wind down. You should also go to bed at the same time every
Hugging something may help you feel secure and let you get a good sleep. Hug a huggy pillow, stuffed animal or a hot water bottle. Wrapping your blankets around you can also help you sleep.
